EVIDENCE BEFORE ASSERTION
Sources, method & corrections.
This is an advocacy site, but it is built as a documented public record. Forceful conclusions are only credible when every entry shows what is known, what remains disputed and who said it.
THE EVIDENCE LADDER
Every record is labeled by what supports it.
Final official finding
Published AAIA or predecessor-agency final report or bulletin. The timeline states the finding and important exculpatory facts, not merely the headline.
Highest evidentiary weightConfirmed occurrence
An official statement or multiple credible reports confirm the event, but no final technical finding has been located.
Cause may remain openPreliminary
AAIA, CAA-B or credible news reporting confirms the event while an investigation is active. No causal conclusion is presented.
Subject to changeReported / disputed
Contemporary reporting documents an event or controversy, but the record is incomplete or accounts conflict. The uncertainty is shown on the card.
Not treated as a findingHow social media was used
Social posts were used to discover leads, locate contemporary video and identify public concern. They were not treated as proof of a technical cause. When a viral claim conflicted with the airline’s account—as in July 2024—both accounts are shown and the event is labeled disputed.
Examples reviewed but not adopted as fact
Anonymous Reddit claims about poor maintenance and speculative TripAdvisor discussion of the 2013 event are not presented as established facts. They may show public concern; they do not establish causation.
What “complete” means here
The timeline is a best-effort search of official investigation reports, aviation-safety databases, Bahamian news archives and indexed public posts through 12 July 2026. It cannot guarantee that every occurrence was reported publicly, indexed online or preserved. New records and corrections should be added when supported by a reliable source.
